Yeast for hair. How to use it? How to make homemade yeast mask?
Our kitchen has many products that you can use to make a homemade hair mask. What ingredients contained in yeast are beneficial for your hair? It turns out that they are popular in hair care for several reasons.
It is worth providing the hair with natural nutrients. Women already knew about it several generations ago. Because of the difficult availability of cosmetics, they reached for what they had at hand. Yeast proved to be a sensational hair mask. Today we are returning to these methods. We run away from cosmetics filled with preservatives and silicones.
Yeast for hair – properties
Yeast is a source of minerals, vitamins and other valuable ingredients. This includes vitamin B group, biotin, selenium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, iron and potassium – all of these ingredients desired in good hair care products. Thanks to this vitamin and mineral bomb, yeast regularly rubbed into the hair and scalp is able to:
- normalize the work of sebaceous glands,
- inhibit hair loss,
- prevent hair,
- delay aging processes,
- naturally accelerate hair growth.
Yeast for hair – use
Some women use yeast as a dietary supplement. Dissolve fresh yeast in warm water (¼ cubes per 100 ml) and drink this mixture once a day. Such treatment lasts about a month, but drinking yeast has many disadvantages and can be harmful.
A much better solution for using yeast is making a hair mask. You can do it in the comfort of your own home with only a few basic ingredients. It is safer to apply yeast to hair and scalp than to drink it. In addition, valuable vitamins and minerals go directly to the bulbs and thus work more effectively on the hair.
Yeast-based hair mask (recipe)
You will need: half a cube of yeast, a spoonful of natural yoghurt and equal part of your favourite hair oil. There is no rule that would determine what oil will be suitable. In general, every oil with lightweight consistency will be suitable, regardless whether it is almond oil, grape oil, argan oil, primrose oil, macadamia oil as long as it has a positive influence of your hair. However, essential (ethereal) oils will not be suitable in this case as they can cause irritation to the scalp. Blend all the ingredients to obtain a smooth consistency mixture (the ratios can be alternated if you feel that the mask is either too thin or too thick). Next, apply it to the hair and scalp and leave it in for about 30-60 minutes. Then, wash out with a gentle shampoo. That’s all!
